Diana Gibbs
Dr. Gibbs graduated from the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She immediately moved to Canada to pursue her veterinary career and joined our team in 2015. She is particularly interested in neurology, behaviour, nutrition, pain management and exotic companion animals. She obtained her certification in veterinary acupuncture in 2020 and is happy to provide acupuncture, massage, and laser therapy at Sixteen Mile. She shares her home with four other humans, two cats, a dog, a bearded dragon, and way too many computers. In her spare time, she can be found swimming, walking her dog, watching educational YouTube videos, or playing video games with her family.
Sophie Bilé
Dr. Bilé has grown up loving animals both large and small from a young age. She graduated from the University of Guelph in 2016 with an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with distinction from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2020. Inspired by the human-animal bond, she found her passion in companion animal medicine and has a strong appreciation for the role pets have as members of the family. While she loves all aspects of general practice, her interests reside in ophthalmology and dermatology - she welcomes all the itchy pets! Dr. Bilé lives in Milton with her dogs Theo and Olive, as well as the three-legged cat, Mog. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bilé enjoys spending her free time hiking, reading, cooking, and growing her collection of houseplants.
Janice Honda
Dr. Honda graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1992 and completed a combined medical and surgical Internship at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She practiced as an associate veterinarian in Burlington for 15 years before she and her husband, Brian designed, built and opened Southside Pet Hospital in 2008. Sixteen Mile Veterinary Clinic was then opened in January 2016. Dr. Honda and her husband are proud parents of three sons: Jack, Ben and Joe, and their family is completed by Hana, the Doberman, and Bo, the Labradoodle. Dr. Honda enjoys regular Pilates, yoga and paddle boarding at the cottage and is forever trying to improve her golf game.
Lisa Walsh
Lisa joined our Sixteen Mile team when we opened in 2016. A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Lisa has diverse business and customer service experience and loves helping our clients and patients to enjoy their visits with us. Passionate about pet health and wellness, Lisa volunteers for animal rescues in her spare time. She always has a special place in her heart and her home for those senior pets needing to be rehomed in a loving and safe environment. Lisa enjoys yoga, reading, music, taking a variety of courses and caring for her rescue dogs, Sparky and Maddy, and her always-entertaining cat, Forest.
Jackie Perrone
Jackie has been a part of our Sixteen Mile team since we opened in 2016. Along with being a graduate of the University of Guelph and Thompson Rivers University, Jackie has over 20 years of experience in the veterinary industry and a passion for working with animals of all sizes. She lives in Grimsby with her husband, Frank, daughters, Madison and Riley, their two cats, Clarice and Morty, and dog, Ranger. In her spare time, she is a world traveler and is often seen at many hockey games.
Ashley Hillgardner
Ashley graduated from Sheridan College in 2016 and joined our team in 2017. Prior to coming to Sixteen Mile, she worked with the Lions Foundation Dog Guides for six years, where she obtained many of her dog handling and behaviour skills. Ashley is a cat mom to her diabetic orange tabby cat, Oliver. On her days off, Ashley enjoys fitness, outdoor hikes and riding her motorcycle through winding country roads.
Tracey McVeigh
Tracey graduated from Seneca College in 1992 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She joined the Sixteen Mile team in 2019. Tracey has two dogs, Bindi and Teddy, whom she adores. During her free time, she enjoys hiking and taking the opportunity to spend time outside. She is also an avid runner.
Averey Courtney
Averey joined the Sixteen Mile team full-time after graduating from Sheridan College in the spring of 2022, but started as a co-op student in 2020. Averey has always had a strong love for animals, which she gets to share with her three cats and dog at home. In her free time, Averey enjoys painting, spending time with friends and adventuring outdoors.
Kerri Allingham
Kerri has been with the Sixteen Mile team since 2020. She grew up in Burlington and enjoys living in the neighbouring community of Waterdown. She graduated from McMaster University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. Pursuing her interest in health care, she returned to school at the Canadian Therapeutic College and enjoyed a career in registered massage therapy for 22 years. She has always had a passion for the outdoors and animals. She enjoys spending her free time training and competing in triathlons as well as hiking and trail running. Kerri is comforted in coming home every day to her husband, Jay, teenage daughters, Allie and Jessie, and their trusty and beloved boxer, Wednesday.
Tanya Clifton
Tanya joined us in 2022. She has fifteen years of experience in the pet care field including grooming, boarding and pet store management. Tanya has two Pomeranian mixes, Luna and Nova, and a senior leopard gecko, Lexi. She has a special place in her heart for birds, fish and reptiles. In her free time, she enjoys going on hikes, lifting weights and spending time with her dogs, friends and family.
